WOW. The timing of this was so incredibly perfect it took my breath away. Me and my family are taking a huge step of faith in opening a Youth Ministry Outreach and we really thought the support would come but it just hasn't. Yet. And this: "It can be easy to get bitter when they don’t “come through” and give the way you expected. When these thoughts dominate, it often means your faith for finances is placed in the wrong source. People cannot be the focus of your trust. Jesus is the one who provides and He’s the one who speaks to hearts"

Thank you so much for that. It went right to the core of my soul and reminded me that it is NOT man we are depending upon to see this mission become a reality but God. Always God. He is the one who called us to it and it IS the one who will see us through it. Amen.

Thank you for your obedience in writing this. It blessed me beyond measure today!

We adopted our first two children (a girl and a boy) and then I gave birth to three girls. We have always been blessed by each of our children. They are all our own children. The trouble with using the term "biological children" is that all children are biological. Our first daughter and son were created by someone else's biology. There are several ways to form a family. Adoption is similar to marriage ... they are both legal arrangements. So there is little difference between coming into a family via marriage or by adoption. Being born into a family is another way to "arrive" in a family. Just like my husband and I selected each other, we in turn selected our first two children. Then we were additionally blessed to conceive. So we always told all of our children that we chose all of our children. We chose our first daughter, then we chose our first son, then we chose to become pregnant with our second daughter, and so on. They were all chosen and they are all biological. And they are all legally a member of this family. Thank you for a provocative essay.
