Congratulations John and Amanda

October 30, 2011

A little over a year ago, this precious couple contacted me with their hearts wide open to adoption. They started out their journey hopeful and so excited. They walked through a long, awkward pause of not being show to ANY birthmoms and then experienced the crazy ups and downs of being shown over and over again. This is a couple who never said NO. And still they were not chosen.

It is so hard to say “YES” and to hear “NO” time after time. It is painfully hard. It is so easy to think: “What is wrong with us?” or to even wonder if this is really ever going to happen.

Today as this couple is holding their tiny little bundle of beautiful joy, I know for a fact that they are saying to each other, “It was WORTH the wait.” I am so proud of John and Amanda for giving their hearts to the Lord and trusting that HIS WAY IS PERFECT, even when it was so hard to understand. They chose to surrender their own need to understand and to lean on HIS UNDERSTANDING!

My heart was full of excitement this weekend as they texted on the way to meet their daughter, as they pulled into the hospital, as they met her for the first time, as they were discharged from the hospital, and as they are now, I’m sure, snuggled up loving on their precious daughter.

My heart is just so full and I’m so blessed to have been part of this journey.
