Waiting

November 30, 2011

Waiting is hard. I remember as a child waiting for it to be MY birthday, waiting for an anticipated package to arrive, waiting to get to our vacation destination, waiting for school to be over, waiting my turn on the swing at recess, waiting….

Most of us do not like to wait.

When it comes to adoption, “waiting” is often a painful exercise of trust and faith.  It is easy to doubt. Easy to fear the worst. Easy to just want to quit.

I am a firm believer that the plans of Lord for each of our lives are GOOD and that He orders our steps. It is the surrendering to that plan and learning to take each step in complete trust that is so very hard. Today as I am praying for the families that I am working with, I am asking for each of you to feel the strength that comes from fully trusting Him and knowing that His way is perfect.

I would also like to share a few older posts from this blog that might be encouraging to those of you who are WAITING:

Mother’s Day Finds Some Waiting

Saying YES

Blessings to each of you as you walk out your journey learning to lean on the Lord and trust His plans for your lives.
