Congratulations Nathan and Jade

May 7, 2012

It was almost a year ago that I began talking to Jade about domestic adoption. Nathan and Jade had already experienced international adoption and have HUGE hearts for Uganda. We had long talks about the need for families right here in the US. I loved this beautiful couple from the beginning and couldn’t wait to see what God had for them. One of the books that I recommended they read was “The Spirit of Adoption” by my friends Randy and Kelsey Bohlender. To this day, Jade is still recommending that book to others who are considering domestic adoption.

Shortly after getting started, completing their domestic home study and creating their profile, they put their domestic adoption on hold for a few months because of a ministry trip Jade would be taking to Uganda in March.

After Jade returned, they were ready to go again, and sure enough, I got a call regarding a very special adoption situation, that I just knew would be perfect for Nathan and Jade. I helped them submit their profile and they were MATCHED. The attorney handling this adoption was so impacted by Nathan and Jade and the big YES in their hearts. She told me that her whole office had tear filled eyes while reading their profile.

Nathan and Jade welcomed their beautiful daughter a few days ago. The future for this little girl is full of love and joy and hope- that is a given. What this beautiful couple also did was extend the love of Christ to their birth mom in the most beautiful way. Their birth mom told them at one point that she couldn’t believe they WANTED to be there with HER too, and not just the baby. Thank you Nathan and Jade for the YES in your hearts to LIFE, and for walking out your adoption journey reflecting the Gospel of Jesus Christ every step of the way! I’m blessed to call you friends.

Now here she is! Isn’t she gorgeous?

I am certain as I look in this Momma’s eyes, that this little girl will always be nurtured and loved.

I am certain that as I look at this father’s hand on his daughter, that she will always be safe and protected.
